With an Olympic gold medal as part of the junior national chef team and a World Championship gold with the Stockholm Culinary Team, chef Douglas Fagerman joined forces with Ruben Blomdahl in 2018. 

In 2024, they set out to create a restaurant block of their own on the corner of Styrmansgatan and Kommendörsgatan – including Cuculo, alongside Aristo and Uva Vinbar. The restaurant sits in the same historic space that once housed Stockholm’s first Italian restaurant, Östergök (1958–2005). At Cuculo, the legacy lives on, with a modern take on classic Italian cooking.

Start with salty boquerones or focaccia with whipped ricotta, followed by a creamy risotto al gamberi or slow-cooked ossobuco. Pair it all with a glass, or bottle, from their extensive yet thoughtfully curated wine list. And why not start or end your evening next door at Uva Vinbar?
